Krista Huyer Psychotherapy

You don't need more understanding.
You need to feel things move.
So much of what we carry lives not just in our thoughts, but in our tissues, patterns, breath and felt sense. That's why depth work doesn't only talk about your experiences. We tune into how they're showing up in your body too. We slow down. We notice. We let the body lead when it's ready.

My approach is body based and relational. I use humanistic and holistic traditions that honour the whole person: your mind, emotions, nervous system, and body. We're not here to manage symptoms, we're here to actually shift them.

Patterns you've carried for years start to loosen, and you notice it. The symptoms that brought you here finally ease up. Your body finds its way back to calm faster after being triggered, and you trust yourself during this process. You get better at listening to your sweet body while she is talking to you. Even your inner critic turns into an ally. You can settle when you need it, and no longer need to run off adrenaline and hyper-vigilance. Your soul feels calmer and stable.
You leave this work KNOWING yourself, in your body, not just your head.

We explore what you may be experiencing
Emotional relief: For the body that is always bracing. Together, we soothe the overwhelm and help you feel more at ease in your everyday life.
Trigger Release: For the moments that still cut deeply. Let's take the emotional sting out of the feelings that spike within us.

What a session looks like:
We explore what's keeping
it all stuck
Trauma: For what still hurts, even though it's over. We can approach those experiences through the body with calm curiosity, at a pace that feels manageable
Pattern: For the habits you understand, but can't quite change. We work with the emotions underneath, so the body has room for a different everyday life.
We explore what could be possible
Body capacity: For feeling more at home in yourself. It's practising staying present, even when something difficult happens.

Somatic For getting clear on what you need. Learn to notice what feels right, what doesn't, and when to say no.

Relationship: For the moments when relationships get complicated. It's understanding why the body shuts down or holds back in certain life connections.

Walk & Talk
A therapy session that happens while we walk outside together. The movement helps the nervous system settle in a way sitting doesn't always allow. This is a powerful way to move what is stuck.
Offered seasonally, weather permitting.

Intensives
There's a different kind of healing that becomes possible when we don't have to stop. An intensive is an extended session, 3-4 hours, designed for deep, focused, transformational work. With no 50-minute clock, your nervous system can fully arrive, the deeper layers come forward, and we move something significant in a single container rather than across many sessions.
