People Pleasing: a coping mechanism you developed to keep yourself safe.

The Essence of Brainspotting Brainspotting is a unique therapeutic approach that taps into the body's innate ability to heal. It allows individuals to access deep-seated emotions and traumas without the need for extensive verbalization. In this space, the body speaks, and we listen. The process can be surprising, even for those who have experienced it many times. When we engage in brainspotting, we often find ourselves in a moment of stillness. This stillness invites the body

If you've been in therapy for a while, or you're thinking about starting, you may have come across the idea of an "intensive" and wondered what it actually means in practice. This post walks through what an intensive is, why it works differently than weekly sessions, what a session actually looks like, and what it costs. What is a therapy intensive? A brainspotting, somatic, or hypnosis intensive is a concentrated block of therapy time, anywhere from half a day to multiple da

You know that tired feeling that has nothing to do with sleep? You're going through your day, doing everything you're supposed to do, and none of it is landing. Good news doesn't feel good, bad news doesn't feel like much either. You're watching your own life instead of living in it. If that's familiar, you're not broken and you're not "just stressed." You're likely experiencing emotional numbness, and it's one of the most common things people never talk about because it does

You don't always sacrifice yourself in some dramatic, obvious way. Most of the time you just... don't say the thing. Don't leave. Don't ask for what you need. You smile when you don't feel like smiling, agree when you don't agree, shrink a little so the room stays comfortable. Nobody betrays you. You do it to yourself, a hundred times a day, in moments so small you don't even clock them as choices. And that's what makes it so easy to miss: nothing breaks. No one notices. Half

If you've been in therapy before and found yourself wondering whether something is missing, you're not alone. Many women I work with have done years of inner work, read the books, sat across from skilled therapists, and gained real insight into their patterns. And still, things feel stuck. The understanding is there, but the change isn't quite landing. This is one of the most common reasons women start looking into body based therapy, subconscious or depth work. It's not that

Our perceptions shape how we experience life. The way we interpret events, people, and emotions colours everything. Not because life itself changes, but because our inner lens does. Beneath that lens lie our core beliefs that are often quiet, unseen and exist to protect our sense of self. At the heart of so many of our reactions is an unconscious effort to uphold something essential: our worth, our safety, our belonging, our lovability. These are the foundations every human n

Starting therapy is a brave and important step and I know it can sometimes feel vulnerable or even scary to share everything on your mind especially when you have concerns or doubts about the process. Maybe you feel stuck, misunderstood, or unsure if therapy is really helping you. I want you to know that these feelings are completely normal and they are exactly why talking openly with your therapist about what you are experiencing is so important. Therapy is a relationship. I

Brainspotting is a relatively new type of therapy that has been gaining popularity in recent years. It is a form of therapy that helps people to process and release trauma, anxiety, and other negative emotions. Brainspotting works by focusing on a particular spot in the client's field of vision, which is related to the emotional issue they are working on. I first work with the client to identify the issue or emotion they want to address. I then use a pointer to guide the clie
