Parent and Child Therapy in Toronto

little bodies, big feelings

Do you feel like...

  • Your child’s behaviors have escalated

  • They have difficulty self-regulating

  • Your child seems to be expressing anxiety

  • School is difficult and every morning is a struggle

It can be challenging for a child to process what's going on in their head and all the physical sensations in their body. Children often have a hard time expressing and understanding what they are feeling; like why their stomach hurts, why they have trouble sleeping, and why going to school might feel scary.

I aim to give children the tools to share what they are feeling and I achieve this through the technique of therapeutic play.

How Child Therapy works

Each session is 50 minutes in length with a strong emphasis on play therapy! We will draw, throw a balloon around, or play with the toys I have in my office. I am a firm believer that play is a child’s language.

It is also important that parents are involved in sessions with children 12 and under and invite you to join in the session for the last 15-20 minutes to go over tips, ideas and make sure everyone is on the same page.

If you have further questions or want to explore Child & Parent Therapy I invite you to book a free 15 minute phone consultation.
